About the artist.

ams-pics-021.jpgHis mother had a rebel soul and locked herself in her room when John Lennon was killed. His father was old time Puerto Rican charm with wise words and a mean left hook. Growing up under the nurturing roof of his grandmother in Manteca, California, Nic fought the struggles early on of people adding the letter k to his name by drawing silently to himself.

ams-pics-028.jpgIt wasn’t until high school that Nic Rodriguez started bringing the pieces of art in his sketchbooks to life, real size, in aerosol. However illegal painting was it seemed to offer the creative satisfaction they weren’t teaching in school. Nic acceled in art classes working with clay and ceramics as well as pen and paper, but finding nothing as fulfilling as watching fresh paint dry on an overpass.

ams-pics-030.jpgWith time Nic Rodriguez would develop a signature style of playful brilliance among walls of colorful image portrayal. With the local grafitti scene losing it’s will to paint for the love of an outlaw art, and becoming just another get-up ground of unnecessary beef, Rodriguez got some canvas stretched and headed indoors.

Relieved to be out from under the stress of unappreciative law enforcement and working out of San Luis Obispo since 2006, Rodriguez fell for the “melted candy” appeal of acrylic on canvas upon first trial. With nearly half a dozen canvases painted, Rodriguez began painting shoes for friends after they saw a pair his niece Madison had asked for him to paint some time before.

Coming full circle from the world of underground art Rodriguez has been commisioned to do album covers, tattoo designs, home murals, and even a mural for a daycare seen at the top of this page. Offering a fresh alternative insight into a clouded pool of conformity, and guaranteed uniqueness every time Peopl Eater is the vision behind an artist to just be. These are dreams and nightmares. This is all there is.

Thanks to all of those who support eating peopl.
